Let's take a closer look at the reset, is this what you did...

1) Press and hold SETUP, 2 flashes
2) Type 981, 4 flashes?

To re-load a pevious IR file, do this...

1) In IR, go to the Advanced menu
2) Select "Enable unsafe upload"
3) Go to the "General" tab and over to the right is a button called "Unsafe Upload", this will load the file even if the EEPROM is blank.

After i type 981, it gives me two flashes and a long third flash. Then when i do this:
1) In IR, go to the Advanced menu
2) Select "Enable unsafe upload"
3) Go to the "General" tab and over to the right is a button called "Unsafe Upload".

After i upload the generic mage you gave me, it generates the error msg: Data read back differs from data written.

So im still stuck....

The 2 short/1 long flash sequence tells you that the reset didn't work, which does indeed point to a failure in the remote somehow.

It sounds like that eeprom isn't compatible. But maybe there's just a flaw in the soldering. I don't know a good way to test the difference.

I think the original file might not work is Oppo changed the remote on the latest releases.

But in this case, we determined that the original poster has a faulty remote.
