Help! Anyone have a spare EEPROM for my URC6131?

Post by frdfsnlght »

I just bought a 6131 and I hadn't done my homework first. I had no problem soldering on the header, but then I found out I need the EEPROM too.

Does anyone have a spare 2K EEPROM hanging around they'd like to sell me? I only need one and I can't see spending $7 shipping on a $.50 part. I'll happily shoot someone some Paypal dough (how about $2?) to send me one of these chips.

Specifically, I need a 24C16 chip like 579-24LC16B-I/SN from mouser.com, or 276681CX from Jameco, or the 24LC16B/SN-ND from Digi-Key.

Shipping could be by US Post (just tape it between two pieces of thin cardboard and send it first class in a stamped envelope). The address is in upstate New York.

Oh, did I mention I need it pretty quick? First class mail would do.

Any takers?

Done. And paid for. Please send it as soon as you can.

I bought this remote planning on programming it and giving it to my father who is currently overwhelmed by remotes and will be more overwhelmed when I give him a Tivo. I'm hoping to have things working by next weekend.

Thanks.

Just FYI, I'm not the guy behind the Filebug site, that's Tom Arnold, so I can't promise how fast your part will be shipped.

FWIW I received my 'standard kit' and eeprom in a VERY timely manner. I think it was 3 days between when I paid and I got it in the mail, and I ordered it close to midnight :)
