I'm just getting started on jp1 and need some direction.
I've got the URC-8810w remote which I have programed successfully for all my devices. No problem using macros or the learn function.
However, I have an Echostar PVR508 and I can't get the PVR functions to work. All other functions work using 0775 except manipulating live TV.
Pause, rewind, forward, skipback/forward 15sec, or record doesn't work.
I've downloaded other "PVR508" files but these are using other remotes.
I would appreciate any direction that anyone has...

Thanks,

wes

wes,
you have missed the elogence and beauty of what the JP1 experts have done in creating KM RM and IR. The files may list a particular remote, but once you have loaded the file into KM or RM, you can select your remote from a drop down list in the upper left corner of the first page and the spreadsheet does all the work in setting things up for that remote.

If you do not have it already, you need to buy or make a JP1 cable for all this magic to work. Order this now (see market section or click on the banner above to support Rob's work at this site). While you are waiting for the cable to arrive, join jp1 at yahoo, download KM, RM, and IR, as well as the files you mentioned, and start reading the beginners guide (see the sticky note at the top of the beginners section of this board)

Good Luck and welcome to JP1!

Thanks for the input Steve.
I have the interface cable and all mentioned programs.
I have already saved my initial remote settings in IR but I wasn't certain where to go from there.
I'm on my second reading of the "JP1 for beginners" and trying to make sense of it all.
Once I get through this learning curve I'll be off and running.

Wes

You can link directly to a particular post using the url that is attached to the little sticky note pad icon () at the beginning of the post.
