to upgrade not to?

With a setup code, I got most of the functions except 14 (which I learned) as follows:

This is just one of my devices. All of which have a partial code, and I would like to learn all the missing function from all my remotes. However, the reason I am trying jp1 is because the HTPro ran out of learning memory.

Someone suggested I am better off creating key moves for the missing functions rather than creating an upgrade since the upgrade will create those missing functions as key moves anyway.

Now, I have created most of the key moves for my first device in IR6.01(and saw my move/macro memory is shrinking fast). Anyway, this one particular function step + learned signal always gives me the following:

1, sony20, 26, 98, 20, 28, 083
2, Async7..., 21, 17, 81

the second protocol is garbage, however, the first protocol has a sub-device 98. All the other learned functions all have a sub-device 73. I have added a keymove in IR with HexCmd $28, however, it does not work after uploading the configuration to HTPro. I kept relearning that one function the result was always the same as above.

Can anyone explain how can I get the code corrected? I think it was not properly decoded, it should have a sub-device of 73 like the rest of the functions, right?

If you tried a keymove with Hex Command $28 then the decode is most likely correct. Some devices use one device/subdevice combination for most buttons, but another device/subdevice for a few functions.

To replicate the learned signal, you need to create a device with the Sony20 protocol and device=26, subdevice =98. You don't need to define any functions and you don't need to assign the device to a device button. Then create a keymove that uses the new device (instead of the old device which is Sony20 26/73.
