As nobody else is seeing this symptom, I have to assume that the problem is local. My suggestion would be to clear out your cookies and temporary internet files and see if that fixes it.

At home in the past few days using search is a pain.
I type the search word(s) and get a list of posts. As expected.
I read a post and need to get back to the list.
Back button takes me instead to IE: Page not found, DNS error, Refresh does nothing, and I have to start over with the search words.
I don't think this is related to the upgrade here because I just tried search on this site from work and everything works as it always did.
Did I break something at home? Suggestions where to look or what to tweek?

Another good reason to use Firebird instead of IE.ElizabethD wrote: Back button takes me instead to IE: Page not found, DNS error, Refresh does nothing, and I have to start over with the search words.
You can use the tabbed browsing to follow links from a search results page without closing that search results page. That helps in lots of situations where back works badly getting bact to a search results page.
In IE you probably should right click each link and open in new window to avoid closing the results, but that's less convenient than tabbed browsing.

Thanks, John.
The right click routine works, and is a useful solution until I get Firefox. i didn't think of doing it that way. Tabbed browsing sounds great.
I still can't figure out why the back button used to work and now does not.
Not strictly a jp1 question: is Firefox going to know how to make and follow hyperlinks to sheets and cells all over excel workbooks? Isn't Excel tightly married to IE?
