VCR_0162 advanced code listing

Post by ElizabethD »

There is one page in advanced codes listings that I don't know how to read.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/cgi-bin/ueic.cgi?VCR_0162
It somewhat repeats ,and adds to, what 0162 and 0454 pages have but also include this section break in the middle of the page
VCR. Uses with:

VCR......................VCRs................VCR 198
What does the section mean? what's 198 about?

Rob, re: description of the General forum section - looks like "the forum below" got moved and is now "the forum above" :)

I think those items are references to other setup codes, so that's a reference to VCR/0198, but that code doesn't ring a bell to me.

I looked for VCR/0198. Haven't found any. Then I looked at few VCR relatives and also struck out. I suppose I can't then assume that the codes below the 198 line are really Panasonic VCR. Some do seem to belong. Many do not.

Is whoever put that list out there still around so we could ask?

That list looks like one of the advanced code sheets that UEI sent out when you requested them by phone or email. I have some from many many years ago. Their page formatting left a lot to be desired. Have you tried sending EFC 198? Maybe that's an advanced code that got listed on the wrong line.
Just call me Zaphod (or Steve) --- I never should have started using numbers in a screen name but I just can't stop now.

The formatting is a bit nasty. You can't copy and paste into Excel without a great deal of hassle.
Good idea to test 198. No, it doesn't seem to belong. But I suspect the functions listed below that line might well go with elaborate programming of the VCR+ which I have no need for so never tested.
