Are there versions of Cinema7 (URC7800)

Post by ElizabethD »

I wonder if there were more than one versions of C7+ made.
Mine has "B00" at the end of the name on the battery cover. Are there others? I suspect there are but would like to hear a definite answer. Is there some other ID, possibly visible through IR, that would be good to check?

First there was the non-learning URC-7200 then there was the learning URC-7800 (that you have). The URC-7800 comes in black plastic. They did make at least one other version that was spray painted silver (on top of black plastic) which I think was called URC-7802 or something like that.

Then, there's also the 6-device versions of both remotes, called URC-6200 and URC-6800.

There was also a 5-device version of the URC-7200 called URC-5650 (I think).

From an IR.exe point of view, all the URC-7800 clones look the same, and all the URC-7200 clones look the same.

Thanks, Rob. I knew I'd get an answer, though not the one I expected.
Now here's the deal: there is at least one other remote in this universe where PGK's DSM works and at least one remote where it does not - mine. Both use the same extender2. The devil is in the details. The difference is tiny: LD R78,R02 vs (LD R78 #$2 or #$20, or OR R78 #$2 perhaps other constants) where the stuff in ( ) works for me. So knowing what I now know, or pretend to know, something seems different. I'm talking only about C7+ URC7800, black, I got from you, a wonderful gadget except it's missing two transport keys, can you put'm in?

You'll have to take that question over to the guys in the Extenders forum, as I don't anything about what goes on under the hood with extenders.

I don't know whether people remember the poor, orphaned, 7800 :D

The reason I posted here is that some evidence suggested a possibility of C7+ versions. I didn't think at that time that C7 is under complete extender control. Sorry for confusing things.
In any case, I just piggy-backed to a post which started it all and version-resolution is only a matter of curiosity.

The "C7+" name is used to differentiate the learning URC-7800 from the older non-learning URC-7200.
