Comcast DCT6412 remote vs Pioneer VSX-D514

Post by TV-Ken »

I am trying to program the silver remote that came with my Comcast/Motorola DCT6412. I tried to put my Pioneer VSX-D514 under the AUX control on the Comcast remote. The only device code that does anything is 1023. The POWER and MUTE buttons work and some of the numeric keys select different input devices (but not all of the input devices).

I know from having already reprogramming one of the keys for the cable codes, that if you know the correct code number, you can change what is sent when a given key is pressed.

I really need to have INPUT SELECT (A/B), VOULME UP, and VOLUME DOWN to work.

Is there any way to find the proper codes for these keys that can be entered into the Comcast remote?

As an aside, I have an X-10 UR24A which when set to code 106 operates all of the Pioneer functions I need without any reprogramming.

Any help or pointers to information sources would be greatly appreciated.

Code AUX1023 doesn't accept advanced codes like other SETUP codes. If it did on this remote, the advanced codes are 5 digit instead of the usual 3 digit. When you press the Vol keys under AUX device, does it control the Cable box or the Tv instead? If so, try this:

1. press AUX
2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks
3. enter 9-9-3
4. press VOL DOWN

I already undid the mapping of VOL +- to TV. The VOL+, VOL-, and A/B have no effect on any device when in AUX-1023 mode.
