I have a RCU810

everything is working great (jp1 inferface wise)

I have run out of learned memory and am trying to move the learned keys over to the key move area. I cant seen to get it to work and I just think that I am confusing some of the values.

I just tried two of the keys to try it out and they dont work .. the sat/guide button and the sat/rewind button ( for the vcr )

I have included a link to the learned page with the guide info showing and a link to the keymove page to show the values I have moved over.

anybody see the probably obvious mistake I have made

( look at the vaules for the highlighted guide button)

The "183" listed in the learned tab as "device" has nothing to do with the "0183" you entered as "setup Code" in the keymove tab.

The code you should enter should be that of a setup either available in the ROM of your remote or an upgrade you have made that implements the same parameters as those in the learned tab (ie SONY15 with device 183).

I suggest trying code SAT / 0639.

Thanks for the reply Alain, I will give that a try.

Im a little bumed because I thought you could learn everything that
you need by teaching your remote .. and looking at the data

is there elsewhere in the program that I can find this information like
the general tap or somewhere else within the ir program ?

thanks

Basically, the normal process is to learn the codes from you original remote, find out what the protocol parameters are by looking at IR's analysis (in your case, Sony15, device 183) and create the corresponding upgrade with KM or RM.

If there are only a few commands you need to add, you create keymoves by using a protocol existing in your remote's ROM, provided such one exists (like my suggested SAT/0639).

Otherwise you create a complete upgrade in KM or RM, where you can assign every command supported by your device to any button available on your remote.

You might be interested by the information from this site, and especially this.

You CAN get everything you need to know by learning commands and decoding with IR. It tells you true Protocol/Device/OBC or EFC.

The devices.xls spreadsheet will give a cross reference between Protocol and Device and UEIC setup code. Devices.xls is outdated but still has most commonly used setup codes.

But even if their isn't a built in setup code (or you can't find it) and frequently there isn't, you can create a device upgrade with KM Master. You create your own setup code. You then select Protocol , device and enter the OBC (or EFC if you have that option selected) in the function tab, and select what keys those functions will be on in the buttons tab.
