DiscreteOn and DiscreteOff for XP MCE

If you already have a working setup code or upgrade, but are looking for discrete codes (for power, inputs, etc), please post here.

DiscreteOn and DiscreteOff for XP MCE

Post by RichardP »

Anyone know if there are DiscreteOn and DiscreteOff commands for Windows XP Media Center Edition?

My XP MCE is usually in standby so I'd like to make sure it's on when I select the device input on my Amp, and make sure it gets put back to sleep when I turn off everything.

Every other device that I have has discrete power codes, its just this one I'm missing.

Thanks,

Richard

This seems to suggest that "standby" is a discrete off key and any other key will take it out of the standby mode. If that's the way it actually works, then use a key that doesn't trigger some unwanted behavior as the "on" key.

Thats not how it seems to work on my PC. The 'Power' button on the remote toggles between off and on, if the PC is off (sleep mode actually) then only the power button will turn it on again.
