Motorola BMC9012 help

Post by vicjammer »

1. Device: Motorola BMC9012
2. Type of device: HD Cable Box/DVR
3. JP1 Remote model: URC-8910B02
4. JP1 user? Yes
5. Still have original remote? Yes
6. Checked Yahoo file section? Yes
7. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes

I found a CCF file here: http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/fi ... center&fc=

and followed instructions on making a txt file. Imported into Excel but I don't think it imported correctly as there are multiple double entries for all keys.

I tried learning some keys but they all came up with the error that Part of this signal is sent after the button is released. That and there were no device or sub-device numbers on the codes.

Can someone give me some pointers on what to try next?

DecodeIr.dll doesn't handle this one yet.

It looks like any one of a few protocols that Jon has explained to me recently in various forums that I haven't gotten around to adding to decodeir yet.

I don't recognise it. Probably Jon will when he looks at this thread.

It seems to alternate between two different frames for each signal and it has several off times (rather than one burst per bit). Both those facts make it much harder to just slap together a protocol starting with PB. So even once it's recognised there may be significant expert work to getting an upgrade. But maybe that work has already been done and just needs to be recognised to find it.

I don't have time to verify this right now, but I think this is a set top box for Moxie and I believe there is a device upgrade for it in the files. It uses the Escient/Dreambox/Force protocol with the 16 different burst pairs.

I couldn't find it in the files so I posted it and here it is.

Please let me know if it works.
