My 15-2116 remote has a built-in device code, Audio 1189, that (mostly) controls my Philips receiver. I'd like to modify the device some in KM, but Audio 1189 isn't in Devices4.xls. Is there an easy way to get a KM device file for this? Can it be "extracted" from the remote? (I'll learn from the original remote and decode if I must.) Something tells me I'm missing something simple...

Thanks,

- Jeff

Unless someone already knows the protocol, device, and has a list of advance codes for 1189 (and that's an "if" since it might be a combo), the best solution for you may be the obvious one you've already considered, just learn all the buttons, use IR to decode them then make an upgrade in Km based on the info you found. Since it's a Phillips receiver, there's good odds it uses one of the Rx protocols. you could kinda extract the efc's but it would mean doing a keymove for each key, and using IR. I think it'd be quicker and easier just to learn a slew of buttons from the oem, then learn the rest if you can't learn them all in one batch. Seems to me i saw a post recently about audio_1189 fairly recently, but dang if i can remember just where i saw it. May have been here or at RC. In the time it took to just do a search for it, you could have what you needed already by just leanring and haiving IR decode for you. Devices4 only covers setup codes that were in the 1994, which is why you counldn't find anything about it, it's not in a 1994.

Based on the numbering it is possible 1189 is based off of 0189 for which
there is an entry in Devices4.xls to get you started. Sometimes the newer
versions with the 1 in front are some combo of different main/sub devices
using the same protocol.

You can download an equivalent upgrade in this file.
