Hi. I have a question that I'm trying to get figured out. I created a DVD recorder remote code from scratch. I've uploaded it into IR successfully. However, in the keymoves section, it has several buttons listed. At first I had the code for the DVDR assigned to the CD button on my remote but have subsequently changed it to AUX button. So all the keymoves showing up in IR are bound to CD mode.
Example line:
Device Button>CD
Key>Last
=
Device Button>AUX
Device Type>DVD
Setup Code>1505
Hex Cmd>$3D
EFC or Key Name>171
Note>Navi
I understand that this comes from a minor and difficult to fix flaw in IR as the keymoves don't follow a change if you switch assigning from one button to another. My question is this. Having switched the new DVD code assignment from the CD to AUX button, do I need to keep the keymoves and rebind them manually to AUX or can I delete them? Are the keymoves needed in AUX mode? Should I remove the upgrade altogether from IR and import again from KM into IR? Obviously, I don't want to use up more memory than needed.
Sorry to be such a pest...I really am trying to learn this!
Thanks.

It is up to you how you want to handle the keymoves. Manually rebinding them or deleteing and reimporting the upgrade should produce exactly the same results.
As to whether you need them or not, that is something you'll have to figure out. Look at what functions they perform (either by looking at the associated notes in IR, or by going back into RM or KM) and decide if you want them.
Note that it is possible that changing the device type of the upgrade could result in fewer keymoves. _________________ -- Greg
