URC 8811 with IR v6.0 - No device codes detected
Hi,
I was trying to add a chicony keyboard as new device (the ones in the database didn't have all the keys I needed).
I am a newbie but read up a bit, and downloaded all the latest tools - IR v6.0 and DecodeIR v2.19. I loaded a few device upgrades, which went well. When I capture a few keys from the keyboard, decode IR does not show any device/sub device code for the learned signals.
I want to add this to KM so I can use this on my modded URC 6131.
Am I missing something?
I have uploaded the file here: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=1249. Please take a look.
TIA.

The easiest thing will be to learn the commands that are missing with a sharp tap on the keyboard (rather than holding the key down). If that is what you have already done, I'll take a look but it may be tomorrow until I get to it.
I understand that you have already downloaded the device upgrade and it works but a few keys are missing, right?
BTW, only a few keyboards are decoded in IR/DecodeIR.dll

The signals are the keys 0-9 learnt thru a single sharp tap. I didn't actually try this keyboard's device upgrade (since it didn't have most of the keys I needed). I will do that tonight and get back to you.
Assuming that the device upgrade works, please let me know if you just want me to give you the learned signals for the keys that I require.
I appreciate the info I have gained from this site and your help.
Thanks.
I tried both the upgrades available and only the Chicony_KB-KM3 upgrade works. I tested the keys that were usable in my setup and they seemed to work fine.GameGod wrote:

Please let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks.

What keys do you need that are missing. The numerals are already in the upgrade. I don't have the equipment so I can't create the commands without your learning them.
I created a spreadsheet when I originally decoded the keyboard and it will probably decode them for you if you are reasonably technical and proficient with Excel and want to understand the process.
If not, it won't take me very long to do that for you but you still need to learn the commands first and post the file of the commands that you need.

I would like to try the excel spreadsheet I am a programmer by profession, so hopefully it is not too complicated. If I can get that to work, it would be great so I can switch keys etc. without bothering you in the future.jon_armstrong wrote:What keys do you need that are missing. Thanks again for your help.

The upgrade file that worked is this one, dated 04-Mar-2004, which going by the timestamp is the older version.

I finally posted my spreadsheet here
Use copy and past the raw signals into Column F at the top and then use Excel's text to column feature to move the values across the columns. Then cpy and paste the entire row below and it will decode it into OBC, that you can enter into KM Master.
Let me know if that doesn't make any sense

Thanks Jon.
I figured out how to use it, and double checked that the OBC for the keys generated matched the ones in the KM file.
I figured out that doing this in the "Mouse Keys" sheet will give me the OBC. However, I did this in the "Decoder" sheet and it amazed me that it filled in all the other OBC's (home, end, etc.) automatically with just one learned signal. So is it possible to just figure out the other keys from this sheet? In other words, how do I add more rows to the table that says "For PB"
Thanks again.
