If I'm in the wrong place, could someone point me in the right direction?
I've recently been given an 8 in 1 remote, branded as Plustron, model URC11E-8A.
I'm not sure if this is made by Universal Electronics, but I am assuming it is due to the URC in the model number.
It has a red LED in the top right hand corner which seems to be giving an error message when I try to power it with batteries (3 flashes on any button press). If I connect an external 3 volt supply to it, pressing some buttons makes the LED flash faster, and others (such as the play button) still do the slow flash thing. I'm assuming because they don't have anything assigned to them.
I have not yet managed to get this remote to do anything other than flash that LED, does it use the same codes listed here? or does it need a new IR diode?
The guy who gave it to me just said it suddenly stopped working one day, and he lost the manual some time ago. |

The letters URC simply stand for "Universal Remote Control" and you'll find they are used by mroe than just UEI. For example, the makers of the MX-500 use those letters for some of their other remotes.
The remote you have is a cheap Koren import that isn't made by UEI and I doubt is worth fixing.

URC is not just used by the makers of the mx-500 for some of their remotes, its the name of the company. _________________ Edmund |
