Maxent LCD Television

Post by BubbaHoTep »

Hi all,

:?: I'm wondering if anyone has the codes for Maxent LCD televisions?

In my secluded retirement, I just purchased and set up a Maxent LCD 27-inch, but I can't deal with having an extra remote.

Doesn't seem like any of the universal remotes have Maxent codes built-in, so I'm hoping someone has had luck programming them in through the JP1 process.

Thanks,

Here's my guess as to the template answers...

1. Device: Maxent ????
2. Type of device: LCD television
3. Remote model: ????
4. JP1 user? I'm guessing no.
5. Still have original remote? Yes
6. Checked Yahoo file section? I'm guessing no.
7. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? I'm guessing no.

I just googled Maxent an according to TigerDirect that seems to be selling a lot of Maxent equipment, that it is made by Sampo. There is a Sampo LCD TV/display device upgrade in the file and you will need a JP1 cable to do the upgrade since AFAIK, the protocol although similar to Emerson, isn't built in any of the OFA libraries.

Thanks Jon :D , I checked for myself and you are absolutely right. A company called Regent USA has consolidated Sampo with Maxent. See:

I'm not sure if this means that Sampo codes = Maxent codes, but it's worth a shot.

Also, Robman, I'm sorry  I wasn't more specific in my first post, but I'm a JP1 newbie. Here's the complete info on my TV:

1. Device: Maxent MX-27X1.
2. Type of device: LCD television.
3. Remote model: I'll be programming a URC-8800.
4. JP1 user? I'm a newbie, and this will be my first.
5. Still have original remote? Yes.
6. Checked Yahoo file section? I have checked, found nada.
7. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? No luck there either.

Anyway, if anyone has had luck with this Maxent stuff, please let me know.

Thanks,

Also Robman,

With the URC-8800, I can't download any learned keys as that remote's learned memory is separate from the JP1 EPROM. See:

That's why I'm looking for whether someone has gotten a hold of the Maxent codes or have confirmed that they are the same as Sampo's.

Thanks,

Yeah, I know that. That's one of the reasons that we ask what remote you are using in the template. If you had posted that you had a true JP1 learning remote, we would have told you to learn the signals yourself. Now, you just have to wait to see if anyone has the device in question (which seems unlikely, or they would have said something by now).

Btw, there is a hardware mod available which lets you read the learned signals from the URC-8800. I invented it myself.

BHT,

It's probably easier to just try the device upgrade for the Sampo. IIRC, it is also used for some Gateway LCD panels.

It is either going to work or not. My guess is that it will.
