Millenium 4 powers off TV and Cable box together

Post by charlie »

Hi,

This looks like a great site. I hope you can help me with my problem.

My cable company provides me with a Millenium 4 remote for my Motorola DCT. I am very happy with the functionality of the remote except that when it is in CBL mode, and I press the PWR key, it powers off (or on) both the TV and the DCT. I would like it to only power the DCT and leave the TV alone.

Our TV is a micro projector model and it takes it 90 seconds to shut down and a further 60 seconds before we can turn it back on. A little mistake and we're in for a long wait.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. If my only recourse is to start playing with JP1 then that is fine. I'm itching to have an excuse to spend some time on that!

Try this:

1. press and hold SETUP for two blinks
2. enter 9-9-5
3. press POWER twice
4. press and hold SETUP for two blinks

Ah, worked like a charm! Great, thanks a lot.

I pushed the CBL button as Step 1, I'm not sure if that was necessary though.

Remember the song Rob, "you don't tug on superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, and you don't pull the mask off of the old Long Ranger":)

I didn't pull off the mask, I just showed people where the answer could be found (assuming you can decode riddles).
