|

Hello,
Long time since I've posted w/jp1 - since it's been on Yahoo!, in fact, so hello again to all, esp Rob!
I bought a used car with a Sony Xplod CD player in it, and though it came with a remote, the previous owner no longer had it. So, I did my research, created a KM file and am ready to upload to a JP1 remote, but all I have are 15-1994s, which are too bulky for the car.
It doesn't appear from Rob's page that there are any small jp1 remotes, (at least not according to what's in KM as jp1-compatible) so do any of you know what the smallest candidate (RS or OFA) for a car application would be?
Thanks,
-N |

The Replay 5k remote is relatively small, but maybe still not as small as
you'd like for car usage. Also you probably want larger buttons for car
use. |

The following models are all relatively small:
URC-6131, 6011, 8011
And there's also the URC-7800 Cinema 7. _________________ Rob

Hey Rob!
Thanks for the tips - maybe I'll order one of these from you. I take it then that the older types of OFA remotes (3060, 2030, etc.) can't have the jp1 added?

The really cheap OFA remotes do not support EEPROMs, so there's nothing to JP1. The cheapest models that are practical to modify are the ones I mentioned. You can also modify cheap remotes like the ugly URC-4080 "Video Expert", but this mod requires constructing a JP1 connector and cutting a hole in the plastic to access it. _________________ Rob
