|
|
Let me see if I got this right.
If I have the OFA 8811 and want to put in discrete codes for a particular device, I don't have to use all of the spreadsheets and junk.
Put another way, I have a Home Theater MX-500, and want to put in a discrete code for my Sony Kp61hs30 to change my video input to 6, instead of scrolling through all of the inputs.
The 8811 has been programmed with the sony TV code of 0000. So all I would need to do to enter a discrete code is press the TV button, press the set button until it blinks twice, enter 994, press the set button, press the button that I want the discrete code on, enter the code, and then press set again?
I think that's right.
Thanks for the help. |

Close, but not exactly right.
To "KeyMove" an EFC code onto a button:
1) Select device (TV)
2) Long press of Set (double blink)
3) Enter 994 (I think it double blinks there too)
4) Short press of Set
5) Enter the 3 digit EFC number
6) Press the key you want programmed with that code (most keys work. A few special keys can't be programmed that way).
You get a double blink at the very end if it worked and a single long blink if it fails.
TV/0000 is Sony devices 1 and 164, so this method would work on the commands you may find in the first two tables on this page
http://www.anycities.com/rhm5757/Sony_tv.htm
not the commands from the tables after that. Also note those tables all have OBC numbers, not EFC numbers, so if you get commands there, do OBC to EFC translation as described here:

States that the command code for video 6 is 73. If that code doesn't work, and I need to enter the "EFC" look in the chart find 73 and enter it's corresponding number 158, or 150, depending on a or b.
Correct? |

It states that video 6 is command (OBC) 73 within the table titled "Sony:1", not the table titled "Sony:164"
The other page says that TV/0000 has Sony:1 as its "A" part and Sony:164 as its "B" part, so you know you want "A" not "B".
Then it says the EFC for 73A is 158.
I expect 158 will work. Don't bother trying 073 or 150. If 158 doesn't work there is something wrong with how you're trying it, or your TV doesn't support that command. |

I see. I missed the part at the top of the chart with Sony:1 or Sony:164.
I have a Sony KP61HS30 which is about 1.5 years old. They should work. I hope.
The reason I need this code is I have put a macro into The MX-500, but it doesn't always work. What the macro does is switch the input on the sony 3 inputs to the one used by the DVD player. Then the macro switches the reciever to the DVD input. 7 different inputs. Finally it turns on the DVD player. The macro doesn't always get the input on the right input.
Thanks for all your help btw! |
