I only know there are 2 version on Kameleon8 URC9960:
one is B00; another is B01
They look like equal, but u can see the version on the back of the remote.
My friend can use the JP1 and the IR application to access B00. But cannot access my remote B01.
The learning capacity of B01 is different to B00:
B00 can only learn about 30 key function, but B01 can learn about 80 keys that I have tried. Therefore, I believe the memory size and memory allocation of B01 is different to B00. And I cannot find any rdf file is useful for the B01.
But it's still a pretty charming remote, because of excelent user interface, and strong function.
JP1 cannot use in Kameleon 8 (URC-9960B01)

The B01 kameleon comes with a 4k EEPROM chip installed, whereas the B00 comes with a 2k chip (but does support larger chips if you want to replace it).
We need some changes made to the IR.exe program for it to support the B01 version because UEI has made alot of changes in the format of the stored data, but unfortunately the author of IR.exe isn't available to make the changes.

I don't know for sure that there is a version number on the new Kameleon, there isn't a clear version number on the old one. If IR.exe recognizes the remote as "KASAKAS0" then it's the new version, if it recognizes it as "NAK0NAK0" is the standard version.
If IR doesn't communicate with the remote at all, then there's something else going wrong.
