JP1 Remotes

In a discussion on another forum, someone was wondering about using another remote with the Streamzap receiver. I suggested a JP1 remote, since I see that the Streamzap protocol is now available. One questions still remains, though: Can the Streamzap receiver be used for any other codes from the Streamzap protocol beyond what the original remote emits? i.e.: does the Girder plugin for this receiver allow you to use any code, or just the original device's codes? What about any other possible software to allow the use of more buttons/codes?

Right -- Girder would replace the Streamzap software for this purpose. But, Streamzap wrote the Girder plugin, so it might still respond only to its own protocol. Also, learning a toggle bit style code in Girder just involves learning both states, so it will still work.

And, yes, the final results come down to someone who has a JP1 remote, the Streamzap receiver, and is using Girder...

1) Are you able to use more codes than what the Streamzap remote emits?

2) Do any other protocols work with the receiver? (It could be limited similar to the Hauppauge IR receiver, which only recognizes one protocol: RC5, in that case.)

I'm just trying to help someone else use a more full-featured remote with their existing receiver.
