I am in the process of building a jp1 interface and learning the software and procedures. I am using a rs 15-2116. I understand you can convert pronto codes to upload to the rs remote; is that correct? I can then learn them to my sony av3000. In the mean time could someone convert this pronto code so I can use it immediatley in my rs remote or do I need the interface to be able to use this? For now I just want to send the discrete code to my sony remote using the rs discrete code broadcast feature of the rs unit. Please clarify if I am off base here.

Discrete video 7 input for sony TV

0000 0067 0000 0010 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0336

Thanks, I am very intrigued by this whole concept

It is Sony15 protocol, device 151, OBC 66. For Sony commands, you should look at RHM's web site. It is likely better than what you find decoding Pronto Hex signals:

http://www.anycities.com/rhm5757/sony_home.htm

I'm pretty sure you need the JP1 cable to get the 2116 to generate that Video7 command (Sony15:151:66) that you posted.

That is correct. I don't know of any UEI remote that has a setup code for Sony:151

When looking for codes for newer Sony TV's, keep in mind that Sony often uses more than one device code these days. So in addition to Sony15:151 yours could have some buttons that send out Sony15:1 or 164, etc. So if your having trouble finding a function, try the others too.

Thanks for the replies. I need to build the jp1 interface. I also just wanted to confirm that I could utilize pronto codes with the jp1 software if need be.

This is an amazing website.

For Sony TV commands, you should look here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/sony/Sony_tv.htm

That gives the device number and OBC number for each command. You'll notice that Video 1 though 6 all use device 1, but video 7 uses device 151.

The next thing to look at on that site is:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/sony/Sony_efctable.htm

That tells you the TV/0000 setup code covers Sony Device 1 and Sony device 164. It does not include Sony device 151.

Maybe your TV understands the Video 7 discrete. Maybe it doesn't (Some TV's have a Video 7 input but not a discrete code). To try that discrete you'll need another setup code (an upgrade because I don't think there is a built-in code for device 151).

I see. I guess I'll have to use discrete video 6 plus TV/Video to get to 7. Thanks for the responses.

Are you a JP1 user? I assume you are as you haven't said otherwise, that being the case why don't you simply create a mini-upgrade with the correct device code and program the VIDEO7 button using a keymove?

I have aKP-65WV700 , I'm trying to access the DVI input video 7 directly. I downloaded 2 different config files from the yahoo forums but still no luck.

Does that mean my tv doesnt support it, or am I just doing it wrong. supposidy I should be using the sony15.

If anyone has gotten this to work on a 15-1994 remote, can I please get your config file to see if works on mine.

thanks,
Confused

Ty this upgrade. VIDEO7 is on the '7' button. Try the rest of the buttons too as I programmed all of the functions listed for device codes 151 and 119 on the Sony site.

Upgrade Code 0 = 17 D0 (TV/2000)
CA 00 B8 BE 21 E9 EE C0 B8 09 89 39 49 C9 9D 42
8C FD B2 72 6D CB 6F 3F BF 1E 9E 7F 84
End

That upgrade didn't do much for me, only button 8 and 9 worked. 8 actived the memory stick browser, and 9 activated the smart focus convergance.

Still no video 7, has anyone gotten this to work with the rear projection sony's yet?

Sad

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the repost of the same question, but it seems that the original topic wasn't getting enough attention. I have a big screen crt sony and I'm looking for video 7 discrete. I tried the following code :

VIDEO7 is on the '7' button. Try the rest of the buttons too as I programmed all of the functions listed for device codes 151 and 119 on the Sony site.

Upgrade Code 0 = 17 D0 (TV/2000)
CA 00 B8 BE 21 E9 EE C0 B8 09 89 39 49 C9 9D 42
8C FD B2 72 6D CB 6F 3F BF 1E 9E 7F 84
End

but haven't had any luck with it. It did perform a couple of operations, so I'm assuming that what he gave me was entered somewhat correctly into my 15-1994. But the codes are still no good, so has anyone with a new sony rear projection been successful in obtaining a discrete video 7 code ?

Surprised

Robman,

I am succusfully using a
1. Device: Sony KV51
2. Type of device: TV
3. JP1 Remote model: RS15-2116
4. JP1 user? yes
5. Still have original remote? yes
6. Checked the file section? yes
7. Checked the Pronto file section no
8. Partially working setup code? yes
9. Learning remote question? (see 'B' below)

A. Partially working setup code,
I am using the SONY KV-34XBR910 - combo from yahoo. Works Awsome except there is no video 7

B. Learning remote question. Please give me the cliff notes version of your statement " why don't you simply create a mini-upgrade with the correct device code and program the VIDEO7 button using a keymove?"

I appreciate your forum. What you have done is amazing. With your intellegence transfer, I may even win over my mother in law. I doubt it but maybe!
