I am about to buy one of these tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I have read on here that IR does not work with some of the newer models. Is there anything that I sould know before I go out and buy one? Is there a workaround for IR? I don't want to get a JP1 remote that I can not use IR with. That would be pointless.
TIA
By the way, is there any one place better than another to buy this remote? |

Flipper, Rob Crowe the Grand Poobah of JP1 and expert on your issue is on vacation through the end of the week. I suspect no one else is answering, because they don't know.
You may want to bump this topic Monday. _________________ -Jon |

I'm back. AFAIK, there is no external way to tell the difference between the two models. I've only seen one example of the newer remote and it was a prototype built using the old remote's casing, so that's not a good way to tell.
The new model is JP1 compatible, but the IR program needs some mods to work with it. _________________ Rob
