Putting the URC9960 into upgrade mode for wavs.

Post by pinter75 »

Hi,

I have just got my URC-9960 in the UK. Amazingly some codes work right out of the manual. Some however are going to need uploading to the remote. I have made some wavs from IR, I just need to know how to put the remote into it's upgrade state.

Also a note to other UK users who have got one of these, I e-mailed the US OFA guys about inputting certain UK codes in, and they say
It appears that we do have these codes. Please call our customer
service number at 1-330-405-8620 to have the codes downloaded.
Thanks.

The function code for download is 997. Use the same procedure as entering any other function. After the code is entered you just need to place the remote near the speaker and play the wav upgrade.

Hi.

Ok code 997. What is the correct way of entering this?

Setup -> Other? -> Play wav

Setup -> Dev set -> enter code

Should the bottom IR bars flash twice after a sucessful download?

Thanks.

I hope you know that .wav upgrades are not cumulative in the remote. Each .wav upgrade installed replaces all previous ones.

If you want multiple device upgrades, you must accumulate them in IR.EXE. Add all the desired device and protocol upgrades to a config in IR, then create one .wav file.

Yes, the manual states that one upgrade will overwrite another. I just want to see if I can successfully upgrade the remote to control 1 bit of ger: Pace Sky digibox 2200. A UK code does exist as it worked with my Kameleon 6in1 Uk edition.

I just need to know the total procedure, key presses, lights to look out for etc with the upgrade.

sorted it

hold setup for 3 seconds

press 997

key pad flashes in a circle at top then screen goes blank awaiting new wav file, also found using headphones is best and hold headphone speaker about where numbers are on keypad and put volume upto max.
