I have URC8811 remote control and I am able to enter advance codes to PIP, MOVE, SWAP and GUIDE buttons to control my Sony TV.
Next I learned the same function from the OEM remote, created the function in KM and assigned the function to PIP, MOVE, SWAP and GUIDE buttons, then uploaded to the 8811 remote.
All other function works fine except the code in the above buttons.
In order to troubleshoot the problem, I remapped the those functions in PLAY, FWD, REW and PAUSE buttons, they worked perfectly.
So I know the problems are not from the function I created.
Anyone has suggestion?
By the way, the protocol is Sony 12/15/20 and device type is TV and also the PIP, MOVE, SWAP and GUIDE buttons are not grayed out in the button sheet)
Thank you
Problem of mapping Sony upgrade code on 8811

First guess is that you have KeyMoves, Learned signals or macros programmed to those keys overriding the upgrade.
Installing an upgrade does not get rid of such overrides. You need to delete them seperately.
If I've guessed wrong or you don't understand, the best next step is to save the eeprom image file you tested (with the functions mapped to PIP, MOVE, etc.) and the KM (or RM) .txt (or .rmdu) file the upgrade came from, and upload them to the Yahoo JP1 diagnosis folder. Then post the URL back here.
It's much easier to look at what you did and see the problem, than to ask questions and make guesses.
