Folks, I'm about to present to you probably the lamest idea anyone has ever come up with, but it's my first special protocol and I'm proud to say I made it:
http://www.joshuav.org/guess.zip
It's a random number guessing game, made as a special protocol for the 8811. You choose a number between 0 and 9 and the backlight will light up if you get it right.
I haven't posted this to the Yahoo! group because I'm afraid I'll be laughed at, but it was a serious attempt on my part to make a special protocol and I've learned from it.
I'd like your opinion on what to do with it (post it, laugh along with you, delete it, etc.) I realize it doesn't do anything useful, but I think it should exist somewhere on the internet so people will know you can have a game on your non-LCD remote. |

Okay, apparently no one cares. I hope I didn't insult or offend anyone by mentioning this, I know the JP1 tools are available for customizing your remote and not making it execute mindless junk, but I thought I would share it even just for a good laugh. |

Hey Josh, don't read anything into the lack of replies. Most regular users just come here, program their remotes, and leave. It's mainly just the experts who check all the posts. Experts are usually just in response mode, which means we're just looking to answer peoples questions and solve whatever problems they are having.
Personally, I am impressed that you were able to write something and I hope you write more, but I haven't had the time to download your protocol and try it out. I expert that's the case for most of the other experts. _________________ Rob
