Hi there!
I wonder where I can buy an URC-9960 ?
Is there any reason, why I can't find Kameleon 8 in Europe ? (It seems I can't find it in Europe)
Anyway, if I find an US shop that sells it and sends it in Europe, should I buy it ? Or should I wait for an european version ?
I saw an URC-9962 which looks like 9960 ? what is the difference between these remote controls?
If someone can answer all or part of my interogations.
Thanks.

They use different model numbers for US (URC-9960) and Canada (URC-9962), but the remotes are the same.
You can't find the URC-9960 in Europe because it's designed for the American market, they designed the URC-8060 for the European market. If you do buy a URC-9960 for use in Europe you will also need to get a JP1 cable as you will need to create upgrades for some of your devices.
I have some Kameleons available for sale and I do ship to Europe. Postage to most countries is just $9. My URC-9960 Kameleons are $65 each and have been modified to be JP1 ready, so you won't need a pogo-pin adapter.

sorry rob to interupt a sale pitch
i'm in the UK, i got my 9960 off ebay, got a jp1 cable and pogo from filebug and then use this forum/ yahoo grp to set-up the remote. Only problem i came agross was my NTL cable box which i got around by using another learning remote and then learned the keys from that But most of the devices you will need can be found or easly created yourself.

Thanks for this great forum.
I have owned an URC-8060 and I have a JP1 cable (home built).
I’ve bought an URC-8060 alias "Kameleon 6" a few weeks ago for my brother's birthday.
Thanks to these forum informations, I’ve built a JP1 cable, I have grabbed all the useful files, and I succeed in implement protocols and key moves in the remote.
Indeed, I prefer the 9960 design, that's why, for my own needs, I try to find out a 9960's seller.
So, it appears The Robman is THE seller.
If I can pay with my credit card (an EuroCard / Mastercard) thru Paypal with rob1 (at) hifi-remote (dot) com then send a mail to rob1 (at) rockabilly (dot) net...
That's it, isn't it ?

That's right, but drop me a line before you send any money just to make sure you've got the right amount, etc.
(Btw, I edited the email addresses you posted, otherwise I'd start getting lots of spam. That's also why I used the _ symbol when I listed the hifi email address, even though that symbol isn't really in my email address).
