I'm trying to set up a device upgrade for my Sony TV for my URC 8910 Remote.
Looking at http://www.hifi-remote.com/sony/Sony_tv.htm I need functions from 4 different devices (1, 164, 151, and 119).
Is there a protocol in KM that would allow me to use all 4 Sony devices in one upgade? How do I set it up? Or, is there an example somewhere? I've looked at all the Sony examples under groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/3. Device Codes/TV/, but it's possible I didn't understand.
Also... I want to set up the power button function for a device so that a short press turns on equipment and a long press turns it off. I've seen this referenced, but haven't yet found an explanation of how to set up a long key press function. My equipment all has discrete on/off codes. Looking for a link that can help me out.
Thanks
Question On Sony TV Device Codes

One choice is to use the "Sony Combo (12/15/20) protocol.
Most of that protocol is oriented toward mixing four subdevices of Sony20 and you don't seem to need any Sony20 at all. But it also alows unlimited combination of Sony12 and Sony15, where the ordinary Sony12/15 protocol only allows two device numbers.
As usual (for interesting Combo protocols) I found the operation of the byte2 column in KM less than obvious, so I tried RM for comparison. I hope my protocols.ini is just out of sync (I'll try to get an official one later) but this protocol seems to be totally broken in RM, so I can't make my usual comment that the combo operation is more obvious in RM.

raalph, have you looked at the actual commands in 119 and 151? The only one I remember being very useful in 151 is the video 7 input used for the DVI output in certain High definition models. Also most commands in 119 are for Plasma displays. Built in setup code TV/0000 already has both device 1 and 164.
The point being that you can create a no button upgrade for 119/151 and key move the few keys if any that are useful.
