Custom text label for remote. Anyone done it?

Post by afaa »

I'm thinking about creating some kind of custom label for my remote. Let say on my RS 15-2104 I want to use the 1s button as a dedicated "OFF" button for all components. So naturally I want to label it "OFF".

So I'm thinking of finding some kind of super strong sticky label that would work. Anyone has done it or has any suggestions?

I have not tried this, so take it for what it is worth - not much. Avery makes a product (8665) that is a full clear sheet, sticky on the back, that is ink jet printable. I have thought about scraping off the painted label on a button of my 2116 and printing my own on this clear sheet. I do know from other things I have done that it would work. What I don't know is how durable the stick-on label would be with constant use.

I've had really good luck with the small hand held label printers. I use them to label all over the place.

Another possibillity, although more tediuos, is to make a copy from the online manual of the front of the remote, size it accordingly and then relabel the buttons as you like.

Then take the whole thing and glue on the remote....
