Gotta few OFA questions. Thinking of getting a couple OFA's as gifts. I already have the 9910 and the RF basestation.

1. Just out of curiosity, is there another OFA remote that does not come with a RF basestation but outputs a RF signal and can use the 9910's basestation?

2. Besides the LCD and backlight color, is there any difference between the 8810, 8811 and 8910?

I tried a search for these answers but apparently couldn't zero in on the best search term/s.

All that have RF capability come with the base station. However, they all communicate with the same base station. You can also remove the RF puck from any RF remote and add it to most others.

Just the number of buttons plus the internals are different between the 8910 and the 88xx. They each have a little difference in the device codes included.

Ok thanks. I just thought awhile back that I read somewhere that one other OFA remote besides the 9910 could use the basestation to send out RF signals. I searched here and Remotecentral but couldn't find the post.

There are several JP1 RF-enabled remotes that all use the same command center (they all transmit on the same frequency), including:

15-1925
15-1935
15-1995
15-2117
URC-9800 (?)
URC-9910

Others, like the 15-2116 and URC-8910 can be made into RF remotes by simply adding the RF puck.

I use an extender in my 9910. When I need to change batteries, after changing am I suppose to press the TV key then Power to reactivate the extender right? Or after changing batteries just start using as normal?

You need to reactivate the extender after EVERY reset. That includes whenever you up or download from the remote, as well as battery changes.
