Hi,
Anyone know if the 6012w at Walmart has a JP1 connector? The packages I saw today said they were upgradable, like the 8810w packages. I'm assuming upgradable means JP1 but just checking.
Thanks,
BGC

No, it does not have the JP1 connector, nor the required EEPROM chip. "Upgradable" in this case means you send the remote to UEI, requesting a new setup code, and they send you back one with the JP1 connector & EEPROM chip installed.
All is not lost, though. Rob may be able to sell you a modified 6012 for nearly the same price that WalMart charges. 8)

Just to clarify, when OFA says the remote is upgradeable, they mean that you can send it back to them and they will add the codes that you need. This is true of BOTH the URC-8810w and URC-6012w.
The difference is that when you send them a URC-8810w they will simply upgrade it and return it to you. However, when you send them a URC-6012w they will throw it in the trash and send you a ready-modified URC-6011 instead.
