I have bought a new Home Theater system (Sharp HT-CN500DVE) and need to programme it on my One for All Kameleon URC 8060 remote.

One for All have tried to find a code but are unable to provide one for the moment as this device is too new. I suspect that the code for the HT-CN400DVE might work.

Can anyone provide advice or help?

Have you searched the file upgrade area for an upgrade that may work?

Have you tried to learn any of the buttons from the original remote?

And the bottom line questions is "are you using jp1" to accomplish the above?

Thanks for your extremely prompt response.

I am totally new to this, have never used a forum before so please bear with me. In answer to your questions;

I haven't tried to learn the buttons yet, as I was hoping someone more experienced might be able to provide the code and make life much easier for me...

I will try the file upgrade section.

Not sure what you mean by are you using JP1 to accomplish the above.

Thanks

JP1 is the process by which you can use your PC to fully program a JP1 remote. The bottom line is if the code you need to run your HTS is NOT part of the built-in library on the 8060, your non-JP1 options are limited to having UEI add an upgrade via the remotes "modem" feature that can take a sound file played over the phone or through a PC speaker. Since they've told you they don't currently know of a code for your device, your option are down to none. Crying or Very sad

Now, if you're a JP1 user, you'll have a JP1 cable and all the associated software tools whereby you can learn functions from your OEM remote, decode the signals in the IR.exe program, and then use the KM or RM apps to build your own upgrade.

You can start here. The first 3 links are how-to's that explain the various features of JP1. The other links are for the interface designs you can build yourself, as well as the necessary software tools.
