Can I Revive My 3680...?

Post by SysTech_Larry »

When I tested out a replacement cable, one of my 3680s ceased to give lighted responses to key presses.
Now that I have an otherwise working cable, I get the following message boxes when I try to upload my RMIR files.
"The signature of the attached remote does not match the signature you are trying to upload. The image you are trying to upload may not be compatible with attached remote, and uploading it may damage the remote. Copying the contents of one remote to another is only safe when the remotes are identical.

This message will be displayed when installing an extender in your remote, which is the only time it is safe to upload to a remote when the signatures do not match.

How would you like to proceed?"
[Upload to the remote] [Cancel the upload]
When I press the "Upload" button, I get the following message.
"writeRemote returned -1"
[OK]
When I try to download its contents, RMIR does not recognize its "signature."

You Mention that you get no light responses to key presses.
If you pull out the batteries and press keys to discharge capacitor
do you get 2 blinks when you insert batteries?

Thats not good i think its shot for good
But as a last ditch effort you can try pull out batteries press button to discharge then insert batteries
and press "1" and "3" simultaneously if nothing try a few times because it should be right after the 2 blinks but since you have none timing is difficult to determine
