Bricked a URC-6440, any way out?

This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

Bricked a URC-6440, any way out?

I pulled the USB cable out while it was uploading and now it is as dead as the dodo.

I spent a couple of hours searching the forum and a lot of the answers suggested replacing the settings.bin file.

However when I connect the remote to the PC the usb disk which contains the settings.bin file is not mounted, so I cannot access that file.

Is this the end of the road for my remote?

I'm not sure that I understand the issue, but under the assumption that you don't have (or can't access) a settings.bin file, you can download one from the diagnosis area. For example,https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/app. ... e_id=12273. Of course, this file will probably not correspond to your desired setup, but it may make the remote operational again so that you can re-program it.
