Its CBL button is unresponsive.
I will be putting CBL (as a macro) on its shifted-TV button.

First, grab a couple of old plastic cards, like credit cards, library cards, drivers licenses, etc. Then, remove the screws from the battery compartment. If you have a small straight edge screwdriver, like the ones found in small screwdriver sets, that would be useful to have also. I would start by trying to insert the small screwdriver into the seam where the 2 halves of the casing join, at the very bottom of the remote. If you don't have any luck there, try moving an inch or two around the side. You're looking for the clips that hold the two halves together. If you can get them even a little bit separated, insert one of the credit cards into the gap, and then try sliding the card around the edge, separating the other clips. If you don't have a small screwdriver, or you don't want to risk leaving a mark on the casing, try starting with one of the credit cards instead. Try using whatever is the thinnest card as it might be easier to slip into the join, but once you get it started, switch to a thicker card to separate the other clips.
