If you have a new remote that isn't recognized by RMIR, post the details here so we can help create a new RDF for it. Or, if there is an issue with an existing RDF or map, this is the place.

That's not a silly idea at all, but unfortunately, the button codes are different between the two remotes. However, as the remotes do look the same, I used the existing ImageMap.

Here's a starter RDF where I have guessed all the button codes.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=27121

I bet I got at least 70% of them right. The way to test it is to create an upgrade for some device that you own, so you can test the remote on it. Load functions to every button, then test the remote and see which buttons send the wrong code. I'm totally confident that I got the numbers, volume and channel buttons right, so don't focus on those, focus on the rest. Be sure to use functions where you can tell what it's doing. For example, if you can put your TV in a mode where, typing numbers on the remote cause the numbers to show up on the screen, try that. Test 10 buttons at a time and see if they send the right number.

Let's say that you programmed the number 1 to the UP arrow button, but you find that the DOWN arrow button sends 1 to the screen. tell me that UP is really DOWN. Etc.

I think your fear may be misplaced. The URC-2020B0-B1, the first remote we came across with this processor, DOES support macros and that is how I identified its button codes.

It is a segment remote, so that is possible, but this is primarily a single device STB remote, the TV mode is only really there for the volume buttons.

Both the URC-2020B0-B1 and the URC-2060 are segmented remote's
The URC-2060 that I have and that Graham got to work in RMIR
is a cable STB remote, the TV part of it only controls Power,Vol,Mute and TV input
so chances are the URC-625000-04R00 is the same

Randy, does your remote support keymoves and macros? And by that I mean, can you program them on the remote? Some remotes support their playback if you program them in RMIR, but do not support the 994 and 995 commands to let you program them from the remote.

The task as hand here is determining the button codes, which is where macros come into play.

My Urc-2060 does support Macros both in RMIR and direct input on the remote
I does not support keymoves in either situation

Perfect, then Tiku should be able to use macros to confirm my button codes. Is the process: press and hold TV_Power and OK, wait for 2 blinks, then type 995?

Hi, Ok i tried to upload my openbox v8 stb device upgrade onto OSN, with the new Assign setup code 0018, it uploaded succesfully and I also twice checked by Download Button, and it showed 0018 selected,But if i press any button on the remote, the remote Ch List flashes twice, and nothing changes on the STB, I have tried all the buttons, But it only blinks twice on the remote.

I probably need to fix the checksums in order for uploads to work.

As for macros (not micros), the question isn't whether RMIR supports them (I can turn that on), the question is whether the remote supports them. Have you tried pressing and holding the TV_Power and OK buttons together, then after the 2 flashes, type 995. If you get 2 flashes, tap the RED button (to hold the macro), then tap 15 other buttons, then press and hold TV_Power and OK again, 2 more flashes.

If it does work, when you do a download, do a RAW download.

i did by holding the TV_Power and OK buttons together & 995 ,but i am getting only one blink in both of my Osn 1.4 remote, then i removed the batteries and inserted in Osn 1.3 remote & i got two flashes, now its behaving strangely, its stuck on blinking two flashes continuesly, blinks twice then it takes a pause, and again blinks twice, this cycle goes on, no matter if
Batteries are removed and re-inserted.

Am I right that you got 2 blinks after holding TV and OK, but 1 blink after typing 995? If so, that confirms that TV+OK is the "SETUP" button, but the remote does not support macros, at least, not recording them, we'll see if it supports playback later.

Try doing a 981 or 980 reset to see if that restores the remote.

Yes that's right.

I did 981 in one Osn 1.4 and in another i did 980, I got 4 blinks in both remotes, I did 991 factory reset which the Osn manual says, got 4 blinks.
But all the three remotes if I press any button it blinks twice, where as it should blink one time only.

Is this still with the upgrade loaded? If so, try re-loading the original "raw download" files.

Graham, is there a way to get RMIR to reload a raw .ir file without RMIR making any changes to it?

I had saved an original back-up of OSN Remote.rmir file way back from the first OSN remote, but can't upload, says remote write fail, but i uploaded 3579.ir (Raw Download), No Luck, one remote flashes twice, and another flashes 2+5 Blinks. Anyone wants to see rmaster.err file? so i upload in diagnostic area.
