I can send it, but there are no stray key moves that would account for the error.

I now have intentional key moves on some of my On Demand keys, but none on my Video Source keys. Will demonstrating the latter be enough, or do you need both keys cleared?

Even though I do not have time to investigate any further
I have not been able duplicate any of the problems you state
That is why it would be good to see your RMIR and a full description of what the problem is

I can send the Video Source problem right now. If you want to see the On Demand key, too, I will have to take down some workarounds.

Send what you have
Also it is a good practice that when posting about a problem, to automatically
upload your RMIR to see the problem, of course this does not apply to all problems
But it cant hurt

I just started looking at your file and went back to review what you'd written about it, and found this statement, which isn't true. Those 2 buttons are available when you select Cable (and SAT, Video Acc) mode for your upgrade. In fact, as the other 3 modes appear to be identical to Cable, except for not having those 2 buttons, I see no reason to use any mode EXCEPT Cable.

If your goal here is to control what those buttons do, then just switch all of your device modes to Cable and put something on them.

Also, from a general trouble shooting point of view, given that your rmir files are so heavily populated with keymoves and upgrades, when you find something that you want to troubleshoot, it might be a good idea to start with a clean file (with nothing populated) and then slowly add things to see when the problem re-appears. Your 4-device remote has 15 upgrades and 25 keymoves, so it's a bit overwhelming to sort through.

With the exception of [CBL][unshifted On Demand], I left them unpopulated by device upgrade & keymove. Only four (of the 15) upgrades are active and most of the shifted key keymoves were generated by them.

If the desired behavior is that these two buttons send no signal when inadvertently pressed, then I suppose one way of achieving that is to include a pause protocol in your RMIR file and keymove it to the two buttons.

Dave, do you see any reason why your patch would cause these un-programmed buttons to start sending random signals? In the cases where Larry is getting this side-effect, he's using device modes that don't include those buttons, so I have changed his rmir file to includes upgrades that use Cable mode, which does include them, just to see if, leaving then un-assigned in such upgrades causes them to go back to sending nothing.

Well, the patch dates back to 2015, when the details of the MAX610 processor were familiar to me. I took a look yesterday and realized that I would need to spend quite a bit of time just to understand how the patch works. And it may turn out to be quite dificult to change the behavior. So I'm reluctant to try to fix this in the patch.

The reality is that I no longer remember anything about these keymoves in this remote, so of course I see no reason for the behavior.

Yeah, this is definitely not worth putting in that kind of effort.

It solved the posted problem but removed the one On Demand key move that I wanted [in CBL].

I can live with the problem reported, but I thought it should be documented.

I didn't remove the keymoves, I forgot to change their device modes to cable, I just fixed it, try the file again.

Yes, that worked. Do I just change the key moves to "from CBL" going forward, then?
