Help with JP1.x pinout

Post by jackching »

Can anyone help me determine the pinout for this model: https://www.ebay.com/itm/312234679584

It is the independent version. The colors he has listed on that site doesn't match up with the actual colors of the wire for the independent version. Maybe there is a way with an ohm meter?

I know it works because i had it working with a different remote before. I took a picture of the layout but you know i lost it!

If the colors match after all, this is how it goes.

1 - RTS (Yellow)
2 - (empty)
3 - GND (Black)
4 - TXD (Green)
5 - RXD (White)

If they don't, I'd crack open the shell and look at the board. It's usually labeled.

As i said, the colors dont match. If you pick the independent version on that page theres a pink wire and a grey wire. That's the one i have

Like I said, crack it open if they don't match. I don't see any pink and grey, no matter what I pick. Otherwise you're looking at trying all 15 combinations and risking bric king your remote. You could find Vcc with a meter. But Rx, Tx and others would require a scope and some way to produce a signal. Far more effort than just looking at the board.

I didnt see that bottom line about cracking it open. I got it now. Thanks

If the seller sent you a cable where the colors of the wires don't match the colors in his listing, I would write to him and ask him to tell you what each wire is.

Just out of curiosity, what are the 6 colors of the wires on your cable? Could you post a photo?

Same colors as on the link in post 1. Choose the independent wire when you get there and look at the picture

If there are numbers on the connectors, you could try:
JP1-Cable
1 - 1
3 - 2
4 - 4
5 - 6

Awesome. Thought you meant you understood my answer, not that you solved it, LOL. Mind posting the solution in case someone else ends up with the same cable?

Just pop open the case. They're all labelled on the PCB of the usb.

It would still be useful to those of us that don't have the cable to pop open, if you would post the solution, because the next person might not want to open the cable.

Grey = RTS
Green = TXD
White = RXD
Black = Ground

Im trying to upload the photo with the case off and it keeps telling me the file is too big even though max size says 8mb, the file is only 3.5mb. I even tried zipping it.

Aren't there 6 wires on this cable?
