I had a nevo go bad, and i pulled a new one out and programmed it, and now i have a ASSIST soft button appear when i click an activity that never appeared on my other Nevo.. Its using the same UPload data...
What is up? How do i get rid of that Assist button that i click and everything is greyed out anyway..

First make sure all the "Assist" boxes in the middle of the Activities tab in RMIR are empty. Delete any entries you see there. If they're already empty, it's showing because you're running an old firmware version. The latest firmware version is 1.3.32 for Xsight and 1.3.33 for Nevo (on the remote itself, go to Home -> Settings -> -> About) and is available in Remote Master. If you are not running the latest, Remote Master will prompt you, and you can perform the upgrade from there.

Thank you.. I dunno why it didn't prompt me for a firmware upgrade before.. But, it did, and i upgraded it, and now the assist is gone.. Thank you...mdavej wrote:First make sure all the "Assist" boxes in the middle of the Activities tab in RMIR are empty. Delete any entries you see there. is the black rubber all sticky? I seem to recall the rubber coating on these went bad pretty quick, so much so that the eBay sellers were scraping them clean before selling them.
The same thing happened to all my 15-1994s, albeit a lot slower.

I've seen that too... it appears to be the same stuff that BMW and VW coated their interior touch points with.
What I've had a problem with is my Xsight Colors (I believe that's the AR branded version of the Nevo C2 yes?) lose their arrow keys after a while. I have yet to see a how to on disassembling them without damage, has anyone done it? I have several where the only functional fault is nonfunctional arrow keys and I seem to be completely unable to move away from them, not being able to find a superior replacement (doubly so now that Harmony is no more; their willingness to take my learns isn't where it was a few years ago.)

I can't help with getting the Nevo open, but if you are able to open a remote with non-responsive buttons, I have found that you can re-paint the bottom of the button with conductive paint, which is normally used by guitar builders to shield the cavities where the pickups and electronics go.
This is what I use:

And unfortunately, gone are the days when you could buy as many Nevos as you wanted on eBay for $20 a pop
