WD TV with OARUSB04G and setup code 2558

Post by SteveGarcia »

I've attempted to utilize setup code 2558, which is designated for the DVD button on the OARUSB04G remote, but unfortunately, it's not functioning. I've also tried assigning it to other device buttons without success. It's worth mentioning that I'm manually programming the remote using its buttons, rather than using a PC and USB cable. There's a possibility that I may have misidentified the version of my WD TV, as mine has built-in Wi-Fi and still includes Netflix, whereas newer versions might not. I'm frustrated with WD for having such similar names for their numerous versions. However, I've only come across this one code for WD regardless of the version. Do you have any ideas or suggestions, or am I simply out of luck?

Steve, I tried code 2558 on my 3680 remote and it works. I've used three different iterations of the WDTV and they all use the same remote codes. Oddly, the remote will accept 2558 on the STREAM button, but not the DVD button.

Try assigning 2558 to the STB button.

I can confirm that 2558 is a CABLE code in the OARUSB04G, so it would work with the STB device button. To use it with a different device button, you would first have to convert that button into a STB button using the 992 command.
