Revisiting URC-6540/OARUSB04G with Linux

Post by HamburgerHelper1 »

I was setting up another machine with RMIR and I went thru the old threads to find how we did this
Just in case someone new runs into this remote with linux this condenesed info will help with mounting problems

Perhaps we should have a note somewhere for others to find in the future

The experts will have a better description of the process but the basics are
First I made directory
sudo mkdir /usbremote

Then
add to the end of fstab file that is in the etc folder

/dev/disk/by-id/usb-UEI_Remotes_UEI_Mass_Storage_000000000001-0:0-part1 /usbremote vfat user,noauto,umask=0,nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show 0 0

and in RMIR Choose Remote interface jps port selection other
/usbremote/settings.bin

There's a section in the WIKI which has a more elegant solution:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.p ... with_Linux
URC7560/URC7562, URC8910, URC7980, URC6440/OARUSB04G and URC3661
