Thanks very much for the update which also acts as a useful reminder. Reckon the XLS makes it easier to find the right file and not to overlook it if it is present. I tried a couple of links which worked perfectly. |

OK, here's JP1Master 1.17
The good news is that it only took 1 hour to download all of the Device Upgrades, excepting Wav, UEI, and Slingbox. Computers and servers apparently do get faster. Even better, the whole process only failed on one file, and that is much improved compared to earlier scraping.
The bad news for me is that I no longer have Excel on my personal computer, and I had to jump through some hoops to just move the CSV file via email to my work computer. Then I had to make some minor changes to the VBA code in Excel to work on a 64 bit OS. I don't know how much longer it will be possible to do this scraping without a complete rewrite--which I'm not inclined to do.
Roughly counting, there were 190 new or revised upgrades in the last 2.5 years. |

Thanks Dave, I use this file extensively, so this is much appreciated.
Was there something about the file that broke it that I can fix? _________________ Rob

Thank you very much Dave! I use it within RemoteLocator (which is a tool embedded in IrScrutinizer, Pane Import -> RemoteLocator. It allows to browse and sometimes download remotes from the the JP1 collection, Lirc, Irdb and my own GirrLib.)
Migrating away from Microsoft Office to free software is a good thing. Have you tried if it works with LibreOffice Calc? Another free alternative may be Gnumeric. |

The JP1Scraper program has been in the File Section for years, but I see that I had omitted a necessary DLL. I also revised the instructions a bit, so I've uploaded again.
JP1Scraper V5.
Barf, I use LibreOffice at home, but JP1master.xls uses Visual Basic for Application code. LibreOffice also has a macro language but it is not compatible with VBA. |
