BeoutQ Sports STB - how to make an upgrade?

Post by Tiku »

Hello Friends, Can Anyone Guide Me I how do i take a dump or make a RMIR out of any Branded or Generic Remote, so that It can be useful for other forum members, you see i have Got this Hybrid STB (Android+Satellite), By the Name BeoutQ Sports, its for MiddleEast Package Only, but i have Changed its firmware and Now Its Unlock, I have seen forum members uploading RMIR Files
for different Stbs' and MediaPlayers, for Example Apple TV. WD Media Players, Roku etc, etc, Can you please Guide me what are the tools needed for taking a dump? or Reading Keys so that i can make RMIR File for JP 1 Remotes, Do i need any kind of Hardware Like Arduino Board, Or Can i make Any type of DIY Receiver that can be attached to PC, For Reading Keys?, I am very keen on Learning This Technique, Thanks

Here are the Pics of the Stb and Original Remote.

To make it more simple for you all , since this BeqoutQ Remote do not have Jp pins, so how do i make its RMIR Upgrade to be used in any JP 1.x Remotes like One For All or Rogers.

So you want to capture the commands of your remote. For this you can either use a learning JP1 remote, learn the commands, and convert to updates as described elsewhere, or you use a program like IrScrutinizer with appropriate capturing hardware, like for example this thing. If using the latter alternative, save as Girr file, and open it in RMDU.

Yes, this is brief; ask if you need more information.

I would not recommend the Arduino nano project that you sent me a link to; it has several problems (I can elaborate if necessary). Better use my circuit linked above.

PS. "Take a dump" has another meaning in informal English.

Thanks Barf, I think the latter one is more likely I can find here in my local market, as I have never seen a jp1 learning remote which can read IR commands facing (Head to Head), besides this I think the device will be much cheaper than the jp1 learner remote.
Can you please tell me whether this remote is a learner or it's just a normal jp1 remote? ,Never came across jp1 remote with three IR's ,here are the pics.

It appears to be an "Essence 4", URC 7140, which is learning according to https://www.oneforall.com/universal-rem ... -4#/step-1 . I am sure there are threads about it in the forum.
