extract remote skin

Post by eduaqa »

Does anybody know how to extract the skins for the remote from desktop installations?
Why? By mistake I clicked on reset and lost my previous configured remote that I'm using for an unbranded OTA DTV PVR receiver
Now I have to try all those 2000 options to find it back
I remember how the skin was, it was like this one used by dreamsky https://eshop.sapro.cz/dreamsky7000-750 ... d1004.html but dreamsky don't show in the list
So I would like to extract the skins and as I found that skin, test the associated option for that skin ... this will reduce my tests from 2000 to a few.

Have you made sure the image isn't still on your computer ? See my article at http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.p ... lingplayer

It's more complicated than that.
I configured the Slingbox in 2017 ... after that I just used it on iPad PRO
The computer used on that time is not with me anymore
The only possible location that the image could be is on the iPad, and I was looking if possible to find that same folder on the iPad, but i didn't find how to browser folder in the ipad (except those for download, pictures, etc) but not "folder" where files are installed.

It doesn't matter where/how you installed it, all the details are stored in the Slingbox. I would install the latest Slingplayer Desktop on a PC and connect to the Slingbox. It should then download the skin to the PC.

Correct, but the problem is that by mistake I clicked o “reset” on the configuration and it “cleaned up” the config that was stored on the slingbox
And that is my problem
As the STB is a generic on I don’t remember which vendor/model I used in 2017
So now I have to try those 2000 options available, and I m trying to reduce those 2000 options
I remember that the skin was like that in the link that I put in the topic, but not the vendor/model I used

Thanks
Yes I know is complicated
It’s on reverse order
I know the skin and I know some IR HEX and with these information needs to discover a vendor / model
Of course if we had access of the database we could do reverse queries but we don’t have access
We only have ready to use queries using as parameters vendor/model

I have a list of the 1200+ remotes I built. If you know the Protocol (NEC?) and the device number and a few OBCs I can probably find one that will work for you. You would have to install it using a PC and it won't have the correct skin but it would at least get you going.

Sorry, I hadn't noticed the threads were connected. In that case I have already offered a solution.

If you can find a working upgrade on this site, you can simply change the setup code to Satellite and 1237, and then export to bin file. The resulting S1237_pl.bin should then provide the remote skin to dreambox 7000s.
