A Quick Question about the URC-6131

Post by milk »

Hi, i am going to buy a urc 6131 from bestbuy but am wondering if it has the holes for the JP1 cord because i just recently ordered the JP1 cord and it came with extra pins. Is the pins all i need for the store's version of the 6131 or do i have to do more to it? Because i was looking at www.surfremotecontrol.com for the modified version of it but i dont like to order things online unless i absolutley have too. It has the jp1 modified to it.

Also, does the store brand version of the 6131 have any memory, and if so, how much memory does it have, like for macros and upgrades because on the modified version on the www.surfremotecontrol.com website it makes it sound like there is no memory at all in it and that is why they are adding it? Do i need that extra memory on the modified ver?

Thanx alot for any responses!!!

You will definitely need the modified version since the one out of the box is NOT jp1 ready and needs the jp1 connector and an EEPROM chip installed. You can check in the Market forum here Robs remotes since he also sells the modified version.

Just FYI, I modified the URC-6131 remotes that Surf Remote sells, but you can also buy them direct from me.
