Aton DLA4 IR Receiver

Aton DLA4 IR Receiver
Does anyone have this device and have successfully connected an external ir receiver to the back. I took and ir emitter cable (connected to an emitter) and split it to expose the cables (I have have confirmed continuity between the cable and the 3.5mm plug (which is of course plugged into the receiver). The exposed wires are then plugged into the IR and G ports of the back of the Aton.
However, I get nothing. I have tested both with codes provide by barf uploaded to a Nevo Remote and I also tested using the ir emitter ports on the back of the Aton with a connected emitter and another device.
There is a product review here from someone whom connected the Aton to a Harmony hub.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-revi ... OKBHS3YZ4M
I also tried connecting a TSOP38238 but the diode for this accepts 5v and the Aton provides 12v so I am pretty sure this was doomed and I may have ruined the TSOP38238.
I am hoping someone has a working example of what they used.
Also tried to see if I could find the official Aton air3, but they dont seem to exist anywhere.
Thank you for any help

I'm late to this party but trying to do the same with a DLA-4. Can you share what you did?ylaviolette wrote:@robp2175, I know this is a bit late but just curious if you got this working and how?
if not let me know as I was able to make it work on a DLA-6.
Could be interesting to see if we have the same approach.
How to convert Pronto code
Help!
I have a bad habit of buying older used electronics without remotes and then trying to find device upgrades here. There is a device upgrade for the Aton DLA4 zone selector I just bought but it is missing one of the IR commands, for which I have the Pronto code:
"GLOBAL RECALL SCENE", "sendir, 1:1, 1, 40000, 1, 1, 48, 32, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 16, 16, 16, 32, 32, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 16, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 32, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 32, 16, 32, 16, 564",
"0000 0067 0000 0023 0030 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0234"
I got this Pronto code as well as the RMDU from this mdavej 2021 post here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewt ... 60711f5662
I would like to add this single Pronto code as a function to the existing Aton DLA-x device upgrade and update it for the DLA series, but I haven't been able to figure out how to convert the Pronto to a RemoteMaster function to add to the RMDU. I've tried IRTool and DecodeCCF, as well as IRScrutinizer. IRScrutinizer looked the most promising but it's too powerful for my understanding of this stuff.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

In case you'd like to know how I decoded that.
1. First, you have to separate the raw Pronto code:
0000 0067 0000 0023 0030 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0020 0010 0234
2. Next, go to RMIR and open a profile that includes learning.
3. Go to the Learned Signals tab and click NEW
4. Check the Pronto radio button and paste the hex code into the data box below, click OK
5. This signal only decodes with DecodeIR, so go to Options > Set IR Decoder > DecodeIR

You read my mind, thanks for the code and the background.
Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to use IrScrutinizer to create RM-ready device upgrades from the files IrS can import like CCF and CML? I understand that IrS can create RM-import-ready GIRR files as output, but it isn't clear what GIRR functions should be used and what remote export options are required to create something usable for RM. The wiki page and doc don't have much on exporting for use in RM. IrS imports work great, I just can't figure out how to make my output usable.

There is this wiki artucle. I do not think it is that bad, but on the other hand, since I wrote it, I may be blind for its shortcomings. Detailed suggestions on improvements are welcome. (Or just ask for a Wiki account, and make the desired changes yourselflandolfi wrote:Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to use IrScrutinizer to create RM-ready device upgrades from the files IrS can import like CCF and CML? Some time ago, IrScrutinizer had a half-baked export option for RM. (See for example the 2016 version of said guide). It was not very good, and produced usable result in only simple cases. In order to properly export to RM, IrScrutinizer would have to incorporate a substantial part of the RM logic. Instead, IrScrutinizer refers the user to the "expert", which is RM. The only think to watch out for is to select "Parameters" as sub-format. IMHO, this is clear in the wiki article, see e.g. http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.p ... -15-25.png.
I hope to cover the procedure in a video on my upcoming Youtube channel, but I have been saying this for years now.

While it may be good to learn all the import stuff for future cases, in this case there is a ready-made upgrade that Barf created a few years back that just needs that one button added, which is a simpler way to get things working in this case.
I have added that new button to Barf's upgrade.
I have added that new button to Barf's upgrade.

The wiki article was just what I was looking for, thanks! I have found IrS generally very intuitive and the documentation thorough and well-written, but as with all powerful tools, your caveat about knowing the domain was well noted and I soon found myself lost in the many features and options. Each time I add a new device I get a little more curious about how it all works.
