Problems using 1.3 extender with Insignia 67100
1 The remote sends the wrong commands to the Roku
Using Roku official. Learns show GI cable prot
All other devices I have tried work.
Note, this is the only device I use that requires a protocol upgrade
A download from the remote shows the non-extended signature but
the macros still work
I suspect something is getting overwritten
I also tried a second remote – same problems
Using
commom JP 1.3 extender version 3.05
rmir c2.09 build 8
I also tried
rmir v2.08 build 7
I am building a new rmir file for 3.05.
I have a 3.03 version that works including the Roku on a different remote
my 3.05 rmir file

Is the extender activated? When you activated it did you see 4 blinks?
I don't quite understand why a download shows a signature for an unextended remote. Go to the raw data tab and look at what is in location 7FE and report back.
I used to use the common extender on an RCA with my roku 2 and had no issues.

this JP1 stuff is a sickness!
The extender is activated and for what I have tested all of my devices work except the Roku.
I got 4 blinks when I activated.
7FE = 03
7FF = 05
I have another remote with V3.03 installed that the Roku works
Here is the download 3,05 rmir file.
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=25878
The download is from an AOC 67100. I also have a NS-RC05A-11
Note: the custom protocol doesn’t show up om the protocols tab on either 3,03 or 3.05.
In the download dev1 has the wrong setup code and macros and special function are missing
I created another RMIR file with the Roku.
Deactivated the extender on the RC05A – got four blinks
981 reset on the RC05A
Uploaded a clean nonextended file to the RC05A
Uploaded the file without the extender to the RC05A
Activated the extender 4 blinks
All other devices still work

The problem with the Roku is that the setup code for device 1 has changed to 0476 (in the down load from the remote).
I decided to try starting with a clean install of the extender and the Roku and the Roku worked.
I added the TV and it still worked.
Added the HDMI switches and it still works
Added Media center upgrade and it still works.
My next step is to start adding the macros and special functions.
I don’t understand how an error in my programming could modify device 1 setup code and change the signature.

I believe the problem is interruptible pause (which is enabled by default)
The TV needs a 9.5 second delay after off to on before it will accept addition commands.
I was use TV shift-phantom1 for a 9.5 second pause. I have also tried phantom 7.
TV discrete-on is a toadtog 1 force on that calls the pause for off to on.
When TV discrete on calls the pause the setup code for device one is over written and the remote signature is changed.
If I set interruptible pause disabled the problem goes away.
I checked my extender 3.03 file and interruptible pause is disabled.
This appears to be a problem with the extender.

The only real difference between 3.03 and 3.05 is the key value definitions in the RDF's to make things consistent between remotes and to fix a bug in the RDF that over-wrote real keys in some remotes.
This all happened in the Phantoms so Wonder if you are using one of the ones that changed and it's no longer the key you thought it was?

I started by installing the new extender into a clean (empty) un-extended rmir file.
I then load each rmdu file added it to the remote and saved it to a different directory.
I also manually entered the macros, special functions and key moves.
I did not try converting a 3.03 rnir file.
I will try use a real key for the pause.
Note that I am currently working with a simpler setup that only has the TV, Roku, media center and
HDMI switches. I cold upload it if that would help

I'm going to have to go look at the code and see what I did.
Been a bit busy as I own a retail store in PA and this Covid stuff is causing all kinds of havoc. Will try to get to it when I can get to it.
If one of the experts wants to take a look, LMK and I can send you the code

Well, I can't find my Insignia remote. I know I have one around here somewhere but I've moved since I last saw it.
the remote will reset the signature if it thinks something has gone wrong and does a full reset. But that also erases the E2 area of the unextended remote so I'm not quite sure what else is missing when that happens. I need to load up your configuration into my remote and try to see what happened.
There was no code changes in 3.04, I think I fixed the interrupible pause in 3.03 from looking at the assembly code. I'll take another look once I dig up the remote and see what h happens when I load up your configuration.

First take care of yourself and family.
I have uploaded my simpler version.
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=25910
To duplicate the sig overwrite
Upload my file to the remote
Press TV
Download from the remote
If you can’t find your remote I could send you one.

I don’t see the sig overwrite with 3.03
My working 3.03 file
www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?ac ... e_id=25911
this is a fully loaded file that use multiplex for 10 devices plus the two HDMI switches.
