URC 6440 - not responding at all after failed upload [FIXED]

URC 6440 - not responding at all after failed upload [FIXED]

Hi all

I've got the above remote setup with the extender and lots of fancy macros :) Thanks again to everyone a few years ago who eventually got me there...!

I was just making some minor changes in RMIR and uploading to the remote, but the cable got disconnected during the upload. So I uploaded again, but now the remote won't respond to anything.

-Remote still comes up in My Computer and RMIR settings still upload fine to the remote
-TV button doesn't flash twice when I disconnect the remote from the PC
-Buttons don't light up when pressed
-Remote doesn't seem to respond to anything now...

What do I do? :eek:

Crisis averted...

Found this on another thread from mathdon :)

"Remove the batteries from the remote, connect the remote to the PC and THEN replace the batteries. It will now show as an external drive. Then copy a valid settings.bin file to the remote before disconnecting it from the PC. As far as I am aware, it is not possible to get the remote into a state from which even this will not work."

The bit in bold worked for me.
