The 3rd post in this thread implies (to me, anyway) that it does. |

Yes, it does keymoves and accepts 5 digit EFC's. _________________ Edmund |

Are you asking because you're shoping and now wonder if that's a good deal???
If so, look closely at the key layout: direct channel entry is difficult as the numbers
are located at the top and those keys are just a bit too small to avoid mistyping... |

Thanks everybody. I'm asking for someone else, but thanks for the warning. |

I stumbled on this thread. Just for closure, based on what we have learned in the intervening 4 years: The OARC05G is very likely a JP1.4 remote with firmware signature 319701. |

sorry for responding to this old post.
So this remote can be reprogrammed using the same tools & cable as a JP1.3?
If not what else is needed?
thanks |

No. You need a lot more than that. You really need to read the whole thread to know what you're getting into. |

There are other remotes, pretty much identical to this one that actually do work with our tools and cables without requiring any hardware mods, like the URC-7940 and 7950. |

Did anyone ever bother to fabricate a JP1 connection and successfully connect to this remote? _________________ Rob
