Those names are meaningless to us as most bin files have names like that, we would need links to the files that you tried to know which ones they are.

Furthermore, most of those files come with instructions that have a list of questions that we'd like the answers to in order to help you. "It didn't work" type answers don't get us anywhere.

I apologize for the missing info.

The ones I tried were:

COSHIP N6750C & N8750C from: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=11155

and the COSHIP N8760C from: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=11202

I followed the instructions and tested them on the Slingbox Remote Control Set-up section. I also tried several other COSHIP codes from the slingbox database but none of them worked. I am sure the IR blast of my SOLO works fine.

OK. I'm afraid I am on a month-long vacation so can't do anything quickly. I'm back home mid-Nov.

Sorry to say Pablo, but Alan's not going to be able to help you any further, until you answer the 12 questions that he has asked in the instructions:
http://placeshiftingenthusiasts.com/how-to-install-a-custom-remote-onto-the-slingbox/

I know for a fact that he's been through this too many times with folks who just won't comply.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your advise. I believe I already answered the critical questions and Alan may work on the code upon his return from vacation. Nevertheless, I will list my response for all 12 questions below.

1. Slingbox SOLO (Firmware 2.1.270 / Hardware: 1.34.1)

2. No errors when adding the Codes. I was able to see and test the remote. None of the buttons worked.

3. Yes. Plenty of time and tried several times at intervals and multiple buttons.

4. Yes, tried both BIN files

5. No, none of the buttons worked. I have tried other codes form the slingbox database and the 'mute' key worked fo some.

6. Yes, I tested the IR Blaster as instructed. I also have a Slingbox PRO-HD (Firmware 2.1.420 / Hardware 1.1.0) which also have an external IR Blaster and works fine with another cable box model. I tried the SOLO with this IR blaster well with no success while the SOLO's worked fine with the PRO-HD. In conclusion, the IR blaster from the SOLO is not broken.

7. I have placed the IR blaster in different positions with no success.

8. Yes, the Cable box works perfectly with it own remote.

9. The cable box settings are okay. In fact, the same SOLO was working fine with a DirecTV receiver I previously had for which slingbox had a code available. I just cound't find any code available for my new cable box.

10. It does not support multiple remote addresses

11. Yes, i have reset it several times and followed all the steps to the point of adding / testing the codes.

12. No, I dont have access to a Logitech Harmony Universal Remote.

I hpoe this helps.

Thanks again.
Pablo

Thank you, I believe that will help him help you when he returns.

Everybody always feels that they have supplied enough info without answering the questions and it is a constant source of frustration here. I equate it to you calling your car mechanic asking how much to fix your car, and he asks what's wrong with it, and you say "it doesn't work".

You do know you don't have to be at the Slingbox location to install it do you ? It can be done from anywhere.
